What We
Are Doing

At GBCS, our ongoing efforts focus on empowering youth, supporting mental well-being, advancing digital literacy, and celebrating cultural heritage. Each initiative is designed to strengthen individuals and uplift the community, creating lasting and transformative impact.

Mentoring

Our mentoring programs are designed to give young people the guidance, support, and encouragement they need to navigate their educational and career journeys. More than just advice, these programs offer personal connections with experienced mentors who inspire confidence, share wisdom, and help unlock potential. Through regular sessions, practical skills training, and faith-based encouragement, we equip the next generation to make informed decisions, embrace their identity, and step boldly into their future.

Music Therapies

At GBCS, we believe that music has the power to heal, inspire, and bring people together. Our music therapy initiatives include choir groups, instrumental lessons, and guided therapeutic sessions that provide a safe space for self-expression and emotional release. These programs help individuals manage stress, overcome challenges, and improve mental well-being while fostering connection and unity within the community. By combining creativity with compassion, we use the gift of music as a tool for healing, growth, and lasting joy.

Digital Education

Through our Cambridge Advanced Technology Training (CATT) Institute, we are helping to bridge the digital divide and open new doors of opportunity. CATT offers a wide range of courses, from basic computer literacy to advanced IT and professional training, ensuring that learners of all ages and backgrounds can gain the skills needed in today’s technology-driven world. By providing accredited programs and industry-recognized certifications, we not only equip individuals for modern careers but also empower them to pursue higher education, improve employability, and build brighter futures.

Cultural Preservation

We are deeply committed to celebrating, preserving, and passing on the rich cultural heritage of the Afro-Caribbean community. Through our Cultural Library, we safeguard history, literature, music, and artifacts that tell powerful stories of resilience, identity, and tradition. Alongside the library, our festivals, workshops, and community events create vibrant spaces where people of all ages can learn, connect, and take pride in their heritage. By honoring the past while engaging the present, we ensure that culture remains a source of inspiration and empowerment for generations to come.

Inclusive Spaces

We strive to continually create welcoming and inclusive spaces for the children and families of the Windrush Generation. These spaces serve as safe environments where individuals can share their stories, celebrate their identity, and access the support they need to thrive. Through community programs, educational initiatives, and cultural activities, we ensure that their voices are heard, their contributions are honored, and their legacy continues to inspire unity and belonging.
